There is a region were the mountains meet the sea. This is Liguria, a region upholder of millenary traditions, amazing landscapes and stories of ancient times. People from here have many centuries of seafaring experience. An experience that brought them to daring ventures that changed the marine history.
Camogli is one of the pearls enclosed in this land standing against the sea. From here left, unfurling the sails, many sailors, explorers and adventurers.
A glorious past that today revives into the Dragun, a craft with oars and two red Latin sails. Launched in the 1968, created by the skilful hands of the artisan from Camogli Ido Battistoni, the Dragun is a boat in-between a xebec and a galley. A craft that enchants who has the look toward the horizon.
The unfailing appointment to see it sailing the waters in front of Camogli is the traditional festival Stella Maris every first Sunday of August.
Its oars cut the waters of almost the entire world, from the crossing of the Po river till Venice and Trieste, to the river Seine and Thames, till New York and Buenos Aires.
A stern that looks to the past and a prow toward the future!
